End of Time

Welcome to the End of Time. There are some guys here to help you. Not just the job class people, but some Chrono Trigger familiars. They're gonna explain the RPG so that you'll know what I'm doing and not get cought with your head in a sock. What? Well, I did.......

Hello. We'll be helping you understand Meliadoul's Online RPG.

What should we cover first?

Why don't we tell them about the jobs?

Good idea Robo. There are six possible jobs for you to choose from.

......

What be thy words Crono?

......

Crono never talks. All he can do is answer yes or no questions.

Tis true. I forgot.

Why don't we let the jobs speek for themselves!

Here they are! Don't pick a weak one, cause you get killed that way. Right Crono?

......

Demon, be silent!

Whatever. Here they are.

We're swordsmen. We can equip swords, suits, vests, and helmets. As you can tell, we get lots of powerful weapons and strong armors. Although we can't use magic at all, we still use MP. We use up MP when we use emotion attacks. For instance, Anger is an attack that lets us increase our attack by 25% for the rest of the battle. It doesn't do damage, but if we use it alot, we'll be doing major damage by the end of the battle. Other emotions can do different things, ranging from healing a small amount to doing double damage. We are weak to fire and lightning magic because our armor both heats up when fire hits it and conducts electricity. We can take ice attacks, but our defence decreases when we are hit by ice alot because our armor rusts.

We're ninjas. We don't use weapons because we learn to fight with our fists. We have higher attack power than anyone else, but it evens out when weapons are equiped. We can equip suits and helmets. Some say that we are the cheapest class because you don't need to buy new weapons at every shop. This is true, but you can spend a pretty penny on Shurikens. We like to throw things. We can by weapons and throw them, or we can buy shurikens. Shurikens do damage when thrown and don't cost too much, but you don't get anything back when you throw it. We can be the most or least expensive job, but it all depends on your strategy. We recommend that you don't buy weapons to throw. They cost much more and don't normally do alot of damage. We don't have any special abilities aside from throwing things and we cannot use magic. Without heavy armor, our defence is not as good as a swordsman and we are weak to all magics because we have no spiritual protection.

We're archers. We can equip bows, suits, and helmets. We are very weak with our fists, but we do descent damage when we have our bows and arrows. Our special abilities lie in our arrows. We can buy special elemental arrows that each have a specific element invoked in them. For example, ice arrows have the element of ice. If we shoot them at an ice creature, it will gain as much HP as it would have lost. If we shoot it at a fire creature, it does double damage. At a nuetral enemy, we do slightly less damage than we would with a normal arrow. We can only hold a certain amount of arrows at a time, depending on what type of quiver we have. You must choose what arrows you have it in carefully, and you buy them in sets of 10, so choose the ones right for the job. We cannot use magic, but about once in twenty times, we invoke a spell with our arrows. For instance, if you got lucky while shooting a lighting arrow, you might invoke lightning and the spell will be cast on the enemy. Don't rely on this to happen if your in a bind, becuase it is a 1 in 20 chance, so it's not gonna happen often. We're weak to fire because it will burn our clothing and weapons. Since our weapons aren't that heavy, we've got a better evasion than the rest of the people, so we'll avoid more attacks.

We're snipers. We don't bother with little weener weapons like the rest of these jobs. We use guns! We also use Suits, Vests, and Helmets. We don't just use one gun either. We carry up to three at a time! We can only use one gun at a time, but we need more than one overall incase we run out of ammo. We also have special sniping skills. Although they do little damage, we can shoot an enemy in a special place or way. For example, if we launch a tear gas grenade from our genade launchers, we all of the enemies will have a 50% chance of each one getting sadness. Ofcourse, we do alot more damage with our big guns! If we fire a rocket launcher, you can bet you'll do more damage than some wimpy archer's arrow. There are drawbacks to this job though. The bigger weapons hold less ammo, and if you run out of ammo in a certain weapon, it's useless for the rest of the battle. We suck with our fists, so if we're out of guns to use, you can expect a couple 1HP hits. We're also slow due to our heavy weapons, so expect attacks near the end instead of the beginning. Since we fight farther away from the enemies, it's less likely that we'll be attacked hand to hand, but far more likely that we'll get a couple arrows or laserbeams heading our way. The worst downside to the job is magic. We're weak to it all, but if something with the lightning element is sent to us, one of our guns busts for the rest of the fight. This can be prevented somehow, but we don't know how yet. If we go up against alot of lightning monsters, we're gonna be in deep doodoo. Get us some ammo clips or spare parts, cause we'll need them.

We're the wizards. We don't believe in fighting with fists. We let magic do all of the talking. We just need a staff or rod, a suit or robe, and a helmet. Our magic is from the elements. We command Fire, Earth, Lightning, and Ice. Okay, so lightning and ice aren't elements, but you think that wind is gonna hurt something? I didn't think so. Anyway, we use them to do damage on enemies. Like the archers, it can do double or it can heal an enemy depending on the enemies strengths and weaknesses. If it's not weak or strong to the magic, it does damage pretty good anyway. We use MP for spells. The stronger the spell, the higher the MP cost. In the long run, alot of low level spells do more damage then a few high level ones, but since MP is refilled in the end of the battle, we suggest that if you're absolutely sure the fight is gonna be over in a few turns, go all out with some heavy duty spells. We like to use low level ones at the start though. Our normal attacks are weak, but it's not likely that we'll use them alot anyway. We can use White magic too, but it's not as effective as it would be if we were priests. We also have something called SP. It's a % that increases as we fight. When it reaches 100%, we get a new spell that is chosen by Meliadoul. We aren't weak to any magic, but normal attacks hurt pretty badly.

We are the most defensive job. Yep, we're the Priests. We don't like to fight, but we love to heal. We cure the other jobs of status, low HP, or even death. We use Staffs or Rods, Suits or Robes, and Helmets. We get our magic from the heart. It is not used for destruction, so we are not as good with Black Magic, but we can use it for some effect. Ofcourse, we will eventually learn Holy spells, which allow us to do great damage to enemies. We have about the same stats as the Wizard does, except for our use of magics. We strongly recommend that the group gets atleast a few of us, becuase if a group is full of attackers, then you'll die quickly. As good as we are with defensive magic, our physical defence is poor, so we won't take alot of hits from a weapon. Magic, however, won't scratch us.

Ayla no need magic. Ayla not die. Ayla kick butt!

We know Ayla. They aren't as good as you, so they might need it. Hey, what's your favorite class Marle?

I like the archers.

I'm more in favor of the snipers.

I wonder why......

Anyway, Meliadoul has provided us with a chart to help us with choosing jobs. These are the strengths that all jobs have at level 1. Except for speed, because there is no number. Just fast, slow, or nuetral.

Job Attack Defence Magic Attack Magic Defence Speed HP MP
Swordsman 5 5 1 1 Neutral 75 15
Ninja 9 6 2 2 Fast 90 5
Archer 4 3 3 3 Fast 65 10
Sniper 5 4 1 1 Slow 80 5
Wizard 2 2 4 5 Neutral 50 20
Priest 2 2 4 5 Neutral 50 20

It seems like they all have tradeins and that none of them is perfect.

What we talk about now?

I believe Melchior is going to help us with the weapons, right Melchior?

Right. Every job can use weapons except for the ninja. Some of these jobs(Sniper and Archer) can attack a certain ammount of times, then run out of ammo. When this happens, they will have to fight hand to hand. They're evasion also lowers because they will be much closer to the enemies. The key to these weapons in preperation. If your an archer, buy a quiver that can hold the most arrows. If your a sniper, bring alot of ammo clips. Since this will naturally take up alot of money, sell old things that you don't use anymore. Old weapons bring in half of what they costed, so you can get some change to help.

Is there something thy is not telling us?

....Yes. The weapon pictures and names won't match because, well, they're from Secret of Mana, so they aren't exactly custom made. For example the wooden sword is actually a bronze sword. Oh well. If your gonna make some pictures for Meliadoul or your going to give him a scanner, go ahead and give give give!

......

Crono, we need you to say something. I need a yes or no question.

I know! Doesn't Marle dress like a Genie?

Yes.

???

Are we getting off of the point?

Sorry.

Alright, I'll explain the use of items. Anyone can use them, not just one job. They have the same effect on people, regardless of who uses it. In past RPGs, Chemists used items better than others, but we all know how to drink a potion, so why should it effect us differently?

It's good to know that noone has more of an advantage when it comes to something we all paid for. Spekkio, tell them about how to use special skills, okay?

Okay. Just say so when you send in a turn. If you want to use an elemental arrow, say which element and who you will attack. If you want to have a rhyme or a little saying with your spell, like "The heat of Ifreet is with me! Fire!" and the like, just say it and Mel will put that there for you.

Where Mel put it?

That's right. All battle turns and going ons can be seen in the Battlefield. It's gonna be a big part of the RPG and you should check it often.

Pardon me, I wanted to know if the RPG will have a story.

Yes, there is a story. Meliadoul is writing it as we advance. It will have direct influence on the battles and it will tell a good epic story at the same time.

Is there a map?

Not yet. Meliadoul doesn't have a scanner, so he can't get one. When he does, he'll make us one.

Hey, I heard a rumor that there are going to be NPC's and stuff in the RPG. Anyone know if it's true?

Yes, it's true. Starting with the very first battle, there will be Non-Playable Characters and stuff that will increase the realness of the RPG. There will even be animals.

Where we see us?

We can view our current enemies as well as our current status in the section called the Front Lines. It will also be the place where you decide on what your turn will be. It's much better to decide after you've looked at your own stat's as well as your party members and your enemies. If you don't have MP and think you do, you might send a turn using magic and not be able to use it. Waste of a turn.

Does anyone know where to buy stuff and how to buy it?

Yes. Go to the nearest town and then view thy choices. Then thou hast made a choice, mail thy wishes to Meliadoul. Thou can't send in orders during battle though.

......

Anyway, the only thing left to go over is how to make plans. Well, how do we?

Check the 7th Heaven messageboard and look under the Online RPG section. Make a post and you can speak with eachother and make plans. The key to fighting is to know what your going to do and to watch your friend's back. As a team, you can win any fight, but if you all do your own thing, you'll fail.

Uh, excuse me for a sec.

MEL!

Hey Ayla. I want to say something. This is not a cheepo RPG like some of the ones on the net. There are formulas behind every attack. Don't think that if you do an attack and someone else with the exact same stats will do teh same ammount of damage as you. If they do more, they were simply luckier. I'm not gonna control anyone's attacks. It's all gonna be done through dice and stuff. Completely out of my power, so you'll all probrably do more damage than me and I might do more than you at certain points. One other thing. You can check up on your money supply in the Front lines. If you were in The Lab, you'll be taken out and moved to the Front Lines. That way, if your gonna buy something, you don't need to switch between areas. There will be links from the main Online RPG page to each section, and a couple between sections. If you have any questions, mail them to me and I'll reply. Or, if you have a question that you think others also have, please post it in the 7th Heaven with my name in the To box.

Well, I believe we're done now.

......

Bye!

C ya!

I bid thee farewell!

Goodbye!

You go? Bye Bye!

....you may go.

Cut it out Magus. Your not the ruler of anybody.

...shut up!

Are they gone yet?

Yes.

Good. Crono, you talk now.

Whew! I hate being silent.

Then why do you do it?

Cause if I didn't, I would get kicked out of the game. All main characters have to be silent.

Who else is silent?

Well, I have to follow the rule along with Ness and Rudy and the rest of them.

Way to go Crono! You just ruined our secret!

Huh? They already left Ness!

No they aren't! Look!

Aw man.....

Ha ha!

I don't like the end of time music, so you won't hear it here. Listen to this instead.
